Altar Servers

An altar server is a lay assistant to the clergy during mass and can be a male or female. An altar server's important tasks include carry the cross, the processional candles, holding the book for the celebrant when he is not at the altar, present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assist him when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the priest, and assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.

Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry out their duties well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received holy communion for the first time and normally receive the Eucharist whenever they participate in the liturgy.

If you are interested in becoming an altar server, then please read over the information linked below and use the contact information to state you are interested in serving.

Lastly, thank you for your willingness to serve! Our parish is deeply grateful for the alter servers' commitment to service at the altar.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” ~1 Peter 4:10
