A Message from Fr. Eric Anokye

We want our all newcomers to the parish to feel welcome. Perhaps you or your family are new to the area, possibly returning to Church, want to make sure children are prepared for sacraments or just eager to get more involved. Although much of the information can be found on our website, there are still “faces” missing from the process.

Our newcomer's orientation is generally held every other month between the Masses. At the orientation, newcomers will be given a brief glimpse of the history of the parish, introduced to the many and varied ministries of the parish, meet the parish staff, and get a tour of the church.

During the orientation newcomers will be given a packet which holds all the information one needs to get started, including a registration form. We hope this process will make registration less of a “paper work” project and more of an introduction into a vibrant community of faith, prayer and action.

In addition to newcomers, we also invite some of our already involved parishioners to share their excitement about life at St. John Neumann parish. I’m looking forward to meeting you and opening our doors as a welcoming community.

What does it mean to be an “Active" Catholic?

Frequently, those seeking to celebrate Marriage, have their children baptized, or serve as sponsors for Confirmation or Baptism request a letter stating that they are parishioners. To receive such a letter, one must be registered in the parish, attend Mass regularly, and be committed to stewardship of time, talent and treasure. In any parish community, one means of verifying participation is through the use of parish offertory envelopes. If you choose not to participate in the support of the parish, or are unable to contribute at this time, please at least note your prayerful support on your envelope and place it in the weekly offertory. We will then be aware of your continued participation, and you will not be noted as “inactive” on our parish roster.
