Helping Hands

A ministry that provides greeters, ministers and food for funerals and funeral receptions and may provide assistance for special parish events. This ministry has the ability to assemble quickly and do what is necessary to help in any way they can.

Galatians 6:2 ~ Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Who is Helping Hands? We are parishioners who are willing to give a few hours when there is a death in the parish to provide a reception after the funeral.

What do they do? We go shopping for food, put serving trays together, prepare cookies, etc., set-up Fr. Val Hall and provide hospitality for the funeral reception.

How much time is involved? Generally 1-2 hours. If you are here during the reception it will usually be a weekday, but there are occasional Saturday mornings. Shopping can be done on your own time.

Why Join? This ministry seems such a small thing unless you are the family grieving a loved one. The grieving families are so appreciative for your support at their difficult time. The impact you can make is tremendous. You also meet lots of parishioners and the Helping Hands crew is a fun group to work with.
