Ecuador Day Care
Sponsorship Drive 2024
For the members of St. John Neumann "adopt" the students of Cristo de Miraville Day Care Center in Quito, Ecuador.
The day care is once again able to hold in-person classes and continues to provide healthcare and food to the students in order to improve their living conditions at home. Even though the capacity of the school is 120, the current enrollment is 94 students. New student registration will take place this Spring, so hopefully they will again be at full capacity. Therefore, we are asking for sponsorships for the 94 current students, as well as the 26 “future students” that we hope for in the coming months. Sponsorship costs remain at $200 again this year.

The Children at the Ecuador Day Care
Mark 9:36-37 ~ He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
Academics
The Academic Coordination Team continued to meet and work on planning and follow-ups. They also held psycho-pedagogical meetings to discuss specific cases. Students are tested, and where needed, are given extra academic support. Progress reports are also sent to parents.

Dental students from UDLA examine the students and report students who need specific dental work.

Students and parents are educated in Christian values throughout the year and many projects and celebrations are held.
Enrollment
In March and April the day care accepts applications for new students. They always receive more applicants than the 38 available spots. Applications get pre-checked and volunteers make the required home-visits.
